Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 4 cups blackberries fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust based on sweetness of berries
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch for thickening
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
Topping
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine blackberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the berries evenly.
  2. Transfer the berry mixture to a greased baking dish.
Make the Topping
  1. In a separate bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, sliced almonds, melted butter, and cinnamon until crumbly.
  2. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the blackberry mixture in the baking dish.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
