Ingredients
  

Potatoes
  • 4 medium Russet potatoes washed and scrubbed
Cheese Sauce
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cream of chicken soup
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Toppings
  • 1/2 cup bacon bits cooked
  • 1/4 cup green onions chopped

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the potatoes into thin rounds, but do not cut all the way through to keep them intact.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cheddar cheese, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
Assembly
  1. Place the sliced potatoes in a baking dish and gently spread the cheese mixture between the slices.
  2. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  3. Remove the foil, sprinkle bacon bits on top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
  4. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
