Prepare the Browned Butter
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, stirring frequently until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Mix the Ingredients
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the browned butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg. Mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Bake the Cookies
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
