Ingredients
  

Ice Cream Base
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cherry extract optional, for enhanced cherry flavor
Add-ins
  • 1 cup fresh cherries pitted and chopped
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Method
 

Prepare Ice Cream Base
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and cherry extract until the sugar is dissolved.
Chill Mixture
  1. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or until thoroughly chilled.
Churn Ice Cream
  1. Pour the chilled mixture into the ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Add Cherries and Chocolate
  1. During the last few minutes of churning, add the chopped cherries and dark chocolate chips.
Freeze
  1. Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 2 hours to firm up before serving.
