Ingredients
  

Oats Base
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 cups milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 1 large egg or flax egg for vegan option
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
Berry Swirl
  • 1 cup mixed berries fresh or frozen
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
Toppings
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips optional
  • 2 tablespoons nuts chopped, optional

Method
 

Prepare the Oven and Dish
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
Mix the Oats Base
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, milk, egg, baking powder, vanilla extract, maple syrup, and cocoa powder. Mix well.
Prepare the Berry Swirl
  1. In a small bowl, mash the mixed berries with honey until combined.
Combine and Bake
  1. Pour the oats mixture into the greased baking dish. Swirl the berry mixture on top. Optionally sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until set and slightly golden.
Serve
  1. Allow to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
