Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8x8 or 9x9-inch ceramic baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- Peel, core, and dice the apples. Scatter half the diced apples across the bottom of the dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together rolled oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, and salt. Spread over the apples, then scatter remaining diced apples on top.
- In the same bowl, whisk together milk, maple syrup, beaten eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until frothy.
- Slowly pour liquid evenly over the oats and apples. Gently tap dish on counter so liquid permeates fully.
- Scatter chopped pecans across the top and drizzle with 1 tbsp maple syrup. Bake at 375°F for 35-40 minutes until golden brown, edges are bubbly, and center is set.
- Rest for 10 minutes before slicing into warm squares. Serve with a splash of cream or extra maple syrup.
