Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Breading
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup bread crumbs preferably Italian seasoned
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Sauce
  • 2 cups marinara sauce store-bought or homemade
Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil chopped, for garnish
Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Method
 

Prepare Chicken
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound to an even thickness.
Breading Process
  1. Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Dip each chicken breast in flour, then in egg, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
Cooking Chicken
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the breaded chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Assemble and Bake
  1. In a baking dish, spread half of the marinara sauce. Place the cooked chicken on top, then cover with the remaining sauce and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serve
  1. Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot with pasta or a side salad.
