Method
Prepare the Brownie Base
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Mix until well combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
Bake and Prepare Topping
- Bake the brownies in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- While the brownies are baking, prepare the coconut pecan topping by combining shredded coconut, chopped pecans, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl.
- Once the brownies are done, remove them from the oven and immediately spread the coconut pecan mixture on top.
- Return the brownies to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
