Ingredients
  

Beef Patties
  • 1 pound Ground beef 80/20 lean-to-fat ratio
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper to taste
Buns and Toppings
  • 4 pieces Hamburger buns toasted
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese optional
  • 1 cup Lettuce shredded
  • 1 medium Tomato sliced
  • 1/2 medium Onion sliced
  • 1/4 cup Pickles sliced
  • 1/4 cup Ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Mustard

Method
 

Prepare the Patties
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to combine.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.
Cook the Patties
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  3. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
Assemble the Burgers
  1. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill until golden brown.
  2. Place each patty on the bottom half of a bun. Top with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.
  3. Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
