- Prepare the yeast by combining warm water, active dry yeast, and a teaspoon of honey in a small bowl; let sit for five minutes until foamy.
- In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, melted butter, and remaining honey until well combined.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center.
- Pour the yeast mixture followed by the buttermilk mixture into the well. Stir until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about eight minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about one hour).
- Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan and let rise again for thirty minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
