Chocolate Mixture
  • 2 cups milk whole or any preferred milk
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 2 tablespoons sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream for extra creaminess
  • pinch salt to enhance flavor

Method
 

Prepare the Chocolate Base
  1. In a saucepan, combine cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add 1/2 cup of milk and whisk until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the remaining milk while continuing to whisk.
  4. Heat the mixture over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and heavy cream.
Serve
  1. Pour the hot chocolate into mugs.
  2. Top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and marshmallows if desired.
