Ingredients
  

Potatoes
  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes or any waxy potato
Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 1/4 cup green onions sliced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream for serving
Seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Prepare the Potatoes
  1. Boil the Yukon Gold potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and let cool slightly.
Smash and Season
  1. Preheat the skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Once hot, place the boiled potatoes in the skillet and gently smash them with a masher.
  2. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper over the smashed potatoes.
Add Toppings
  1. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and green onions over the smashed potatoes.
  2. Cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges are crispy.
Serve
  1. Serve hot with a dollop of sour cream on top.
