Ingredients
  

Topping
  • 1 can sliced pineapple in juice, drained
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
Cake
  • 1 box yellow cake mix follow package instructions
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

Method
 

Prepare the Topping
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar until well blended.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly in the bottom of the cake pan.
  4. Arrange the pineapple slices over the brown sugar mixture and place a cherry in the center of each pineapple slice.
Make the Cake Batter
  1. In a separate bowl, prepare the yellow cake mix according to package instructions, adding eggs, oil, and water.
  2. Pour the cake batter over the pineapple and brown sugar mixture in the cake pan.
Bake the Cake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
  3. Invert the cake onto a serving plate and let it cool completely.
