Ingredients
  

Waffle Batter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Strawberry Topping
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar to taste
Whipped Cream
  • 1 cup heavy cream chilled
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Waffle Batter
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, combine the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Cook the Waffles
  1. Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Pour the batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
  3. Repeat with the remaining batter.
Prepare the Strawberry Topping
  1. In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries with sugar and let sit for 10 minutes to macerate.
Make the Whipped Cream
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the chilled heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
Assemble the Dish
  1. Serve the waffles topped with macerated strawberries and a dollop of whipped cream.
